Jules Faife, solo guitarist

BIO

Jules has been based in the London area for 20 years and has absorbed a wide variety of styles from flamenco, Latin and Indian music to Jazz, Blues and classical guitar. He's played at several international festivals including Territorios in Sevilla, Roots Festival Amsterdam, Busara in Zanzibar and Kippie's in Johannesburg. His interest in flamenco led him to join Amir Akbari's "El Aire". He's also been a regular in London session soul funk outfit Bassistry as well as with Zimbabwean artists Netsayi and Kudausha Matimba.

In 2013 he released his debut album Compás to critical acclaim, uniquely mixing flamenco with jazz and other world styles.

Jules is a skilled wedding guitarist - he has years of experience of choosing the right piece for the right moment, and is used to gauging the ambience and dynamics of the venue and gathering to create an appropriate musical background, not interfering with the guests' conversation level but supplying them with memorable melodies that will capture their attention from time to time during the course of the event.
